During my career as a teacher I have worked as a peripatetic woodwind and strings teacher, a workshop leader, class teacher, music leader, music specialist and assistant headteacher. I have also worked at Junior Academy on Saturdays as musicianship and composition teacher.

As a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE), I have been given the opportunity to guide others in the teaching of music and am available to visit schools to help them devise a music curriculum to suit their school and help with large scale projects

I am fortunate to have been taught by amazing teachers in my life and continue to work alongside them. I sing in the London Vocal Project led by the world famous educator  Pete Churchill.

I include elements of  Kodaly method in my teaching after an eye opening summer school in Australia and I see immense value in encouraging a holistic approach to the learning of music.

I now work as an associate for Musical Futures guiding teachers in the use of their resources and as a consultant for the Voices Foundation. I also work at FONACT school of acting as a vocal coach and choir leader and at St Gildas’ Primary School as a music specialist.

I am passionate about lifelong learning of music and work weekly with children from the age of 3 to adults in their 90’s.
