KATY HEMMINGWAY (SPARKS TEAM, ROYAL COLLEGE OF MUSIC 2019)

“Katie shows great passion for what she delivers. She puts people at ease with humour and warmth, whilst inspiring the next generation of learners with the highest quality, most musically engaging experience. Katie provides a safe environment for RCM students to share ideas, experiment and take risks – a brilliant ambassador for RCM Sparks and the RCM as a whole.”

JANE AUSTIN (MANAGER, HART AND SOUL CHOIR 2019)

“Katie led our village choir of around 35 members for just over 2 years and we were so sorry to lose her. Her choir sessions were always uplifting and motivating. As a non-reading community choir, it was important to make all the members feel valued and motivated, and her skilful guidance filled us with confidence. Katie always showed kindness and understanding, and her encouragement brought out the best in all of us. Above all she was terrific fun, and a bad day was immediately forgotten at choir.”

SIMON COOK (HEAD OF MUSIC, ACS SCHOOL, 2018)

In 2018 Katie paid a series of visits to ACS International School Cobham to work with Lower, Middle and High School students. They learned and performed a number of songs, including Someone Else’s Shoes, a brilliant and catchy original Katie composed in support of the school pastoral programme. Leading with infectious energy and wholehearted commitment, Katie established an immediate and comfortable rapport with students of all ages, and had them all singing their hearts out

GRAEME SMITH (HEAD OF SERVICE, CROYDON MUSIC AND ARTS, 2017)

“Another stunning session from Katie yesterday. She managed to keep the interest of those who had a primary classroom perspective, those who had a secondary classroom perspective and those who had an instrumental development perspective”

ROBIN WARREN (HEADTEACHER, PRIMROSE HILL SCHOOL, 2016)

“Katie is a powerhouse of energy and is well loved by the school community. She is passionate about music education and her enthusiasm ensures all children have a positive and active learning experience. Katie works swiftly and efficiently and is clear about the organisational steps required to complete a project. Her recent ‘Charity Single’ event at Primrose Hill Primary School brought the whole school community together; the song ‘Where Can We Go?’ was recorded and filmed and made over £2k for Save the Children.”

WENDY YOUNG (MANAGER, WOOLWICH SINGERS, 2015)

“Katie is brilliant! She is a hugely talented musician who leads choir rehearsals with an enthusiasm and passion that is quite remarkable. She brings out the voice of every singer by combining sensitivity, fun and laughter. Katie is versatile and adaptable to our needs whilst always ensuring the beauty of singing in a collective group shines through.”
